Anti-Inflammatory Effects of Turmeric

Everybody is familiar with turmeric root even if you don’t know it.

History:

Turmeric has been used in traditional systems of medicine way back thousands of years especially in Asia where it’s native.

Medicinal Use:

Today, one of the most interesting and promising uses of turmeric is as an anti-inflammatory. Especially when vioxx and some of these drugs were pulled off the market a few years ago because of potential safety concerns. Drugs that remain in use to relieve pain for people that have certain kind of osteoarthritis. There was a new search and interest in finding natural, safe materials like herbal preparations that might be substitutable, reusable instead of some of these dangerous pharmaceutical drugs. During this time turmeric has emerged as probably the biggest contender for that position.

Clinical trials

Clinical trials demonstrate that turmeric root extracts actually have anti-inflammatory effects. Clinical trials also show that turmeric root can also reduce pain and people with certain kinds of arthritis.
